nope, you dont even know it is happening! I think the last time I had mine done, the nurse suggested wearing a sweatshirt to keep my arm warm. I think it goes faster when you are warm!
Enjoy the quiet!!

nope you really dont feel a thing. sometimes it made me a little chilly if you dont take the bag out of the fridge and warm it up first. but otherwise just put a movie on or something cause its pretty boring!

You don't even notice it. Are you doing it at dr t? I did it once there and I liked the comfy chair and little room. Voula is great. I brought a kindle book and a snack (because that's how my fat arse rolls)

Re: intralipids
My wrist and arm always got cold so I covered with a towel, I usually had to pee once during the infusion.
And I always felt really good afterwards for the next 3 days. I used to look forward to them a lot!

Comfy chair, yes! I always have to pee too. But you just wheel the pole to the potty! I actually always get a headache, always. So I try to remember to take Tylenol before hand.

Re: intralipids
i wouldnt drink a few hours beforehand so i wouldnt have to pee. i did it at home so i'd end up chatting with the nurse the entire time even though i had my laptop and movies to watch. it's not so bad! eta it doesnt hurt at all!

i def got a headache from it once too. it actually made me tired feeling, but maybe that was just from sitting around for 3 hours!!
also if you have crappy veins the IV can be annoying - but no worse than any other IV .

Hyjacking here....what if the te nurse comes to your house? You just lay on the couch and go on chatting with her? I am getting them from dr bs rn. Maybe I'll have some snacks for her! It is three hours????? Does she come at night? Was it just the two of you?

i had nurses from a service (i forget the name) come to administer mine. i usually put a movie on or chatted with the nurse if he/she was friendly. i had the same nurse two or three times. there was one i would request but if she wasn't available they would send whomever was. you def dont need snacks although if you want to im sure that would be nice. mine always came when i got home from work so usually 7pm or later. it takes different amounts of time depending on the way the IV is set. mine have taken as short as 2.5 hours and as long as 3.5. it depends on the IV and your veins. it ended up being me and the nurse or me, the nurse, and DH. i had all the infusions done in my home.

It was just me and the nurse and DH if he was home. I offered drinks but they never take them. One brought her sandwich. We just sat and chatted or watched tv. And they did paperwork. I've had a few different nurses. One are chatty and tell you their life story while others are quiet. I sat on the couch all the time.
