International Cell Phone Rentals

I have a list of cell phone rental companies and was wondering if anyone has used any of them before. If so, could you tell me about your experience.

-AceTelecom
-AllCell
-Cellhire
-Cellular Connection
-Satellite Phone Store (very interested in this!)
-World Cellular Rentals (seems very $$$)

Also, if you used another company who did you use.

My cellphone provider, Verizon, does not work where I am going.

Let me know who you end up with. I need to rent one for a trip in february. Like you, I only have Verizon and it doesn't work there.

If your phone can work abroad, you can get a super cheap sim card and use it. At Manchester airport there is a sim card machine in the arrivals area, you can pop one in your phone and use it on a different service. I think renting a phone is almost as expensive as buying a new one!

We are going to Ireland and Verizon offers a free global phone rental program. You just pay for the shipping and the minutes you use. If you have a verizon account you can actually have it programmed to your number and download your contacts into the global phone. The number for this program is 1-800-711-8300.
