Interior Designer
Does anyone know what the average hourly rate typically is for someone with 10+ years experience?
I found someone I really like and he is $100/hr. Just curious if others have any experience.

I think it's fair.
I have someone I am considering working with and she is charging $75 an hour. However, as she is just free lancing and not really in business anymore, her discount is limited. If the $100 includes full access to his decorator discount, I would probably work with him.
The only other questions I would have is whether or not you have to commit to a certain number of hours, will he work off a retainer, etc..

Yes, he is giving us full access to his discount with no minimum/retainer and no percentage on any furniture pieces.
We are doing a phased approach and see this as a year to year and a half project. So we will be working with him on and off for that time.

He told us the number of hours for the first step which was creating the project plan and picking the paint colors for the rooms we need to get started on since we have a contractor waiting on us. The rest he will have a better idea after the project plan is complete.
