Re: insurance quote?
Seems pretty good to me! We have 4BD/2BA and pay almost double that!

Re: insurance quote?
Homeowners quote do not include land. its based on rebuilding value of the home.
so it sounds pretty good.

Re: insurance quote?
Do you have a separate 1 or 2 car garage? What's the age of your house? Does the quote include things such as flood coverage or is it just basic? Do you have an alarm system?
Those are some factors that determine the cost of your ins. rate...
I think if your insurance is just basic and you have no detached garage, you could do better than that rate.
Just for comparison sake, my home is over 2000 SF with a 2 car detached garage and my rate is abit less than what you got so I think you can do better...
Call 1 or 2 agents who can shop at multiple insurance providers for you.

Re: insurance quote?
it was actually 708..they apparently misquoted us and my bf just called them back
there's a 1 car detached garage..
the house was built in 1924..there's no alarm now but we will be installing one the first week we live there..

I think that's a great price! You can shop a few more, but I think that sounds really great.

Re: insurance quote?
Honestly I think you can do better on the price and get it in the 600s. Especially if you raise your deductable.
I would call around and get more quotes. Check with Liberty Mutual as I get great rates with them.

Re: insurance quote?
I'm wondering what company you got that quote from? I feel like we've been over paying. We pay 1200 for a 3 bedroom 2 bath and 1000 sq ft. Thank you!

Re: insurance quote?
the quote was through geico, and doesn't reflect that our car ins. will drop by about $10 a month too since it's through them also, saving another 120ish a year
liberty mutual (who i have my car ins. through) wanted 1646/year

Re: insurance quote?
Thanks! We actually just switched our car insurance to geico. Not sure why DH didn't check homeowners, I think he just wanted to do the cars since our other policy was expiring.

i was told that all of the "big" insurance companies now act as brokers, but we got our quote through geico and they'll now give us the multi-policy discount

Thats insane as I pay about $1300 a year for a 2500 square foot colonial that probably has at least twice the dwelling coverage.
I was only paying $675 a year with Liberty Mutual a few years ago when I had my last house (1400 square feet).
