Insurance?
I'm not trying to alarm anyone, we are just making sure we're prepared now for the worst case scenario and not when it's too late and I need advice about insurance.
With the hurricane season drawing near we started making a plan for hurricane preparedness. We saw a disturbing map about what a CAT 1,2,3 hurricanes would do. We will most likely get flooded by storm surge.
We are starting to consider our insurance. Who can you talk with to find out if you are properly insured? I don't really want to talk to someone who wants to sell me insurance but I do want someone who knows more than I do to look at our policy and let us know if we're properly covered. Any ideas who we should speak to?
If you live on the South Shore and want to see the storm surge maps HERE IS THE LINK

Re: Insurance?
It really stinks because I think we would be under water but the maps dont show Riverhead... I would love to see if we would be swimming. We are 12' above sea level and god forbid we do get a Cat 3 or above this summer I think we would be stuck here because we are SO far away from the bridges and Im sure all the ferries would be booked.
