Re: insurance ?

I have allstate- but I am not sure if they are taking new homes

I know they are taking co-ops, condos and renters

I used to have Metlife- they were good also

but my cars are insuranced with Allstate and they gives us another discount

plus they were cheaper by over a $100 for the year - (and it was under $400 total- so that's alot)

they aren't taking Westchester either- but if you already had some type of home policey with them- then they will keep you- like a co-op or condo

we both lived at home, so we didnt have any All State policy for homeowners or renters to begin with.

Our agent said that All state is trying to become more like Geico and have no agents.

I know- it wouldn't work for you guys- I was surprised to hear they weren't taking Westchester either

I don't want them to get rid of agents!

but I know for a fact they do not re-run your license once you are a customer in order to save money! I called my agent to tell him about a ticket I got- and he said not to worry about it!

Re: insurance ?

Use the same company you use for their cars.

We added renter's to our car insurance, and the insurance was about $200, but we got $220 in multi-policy discounts, so we actually pay LESS money for renters and car insurance than we paid for just car insurance

Re: insurance ?

one thing i learned by speaking with state farm yesterday....make sure you have the exact square footage of the house to give the insurance company, so they can give you an exact quote for the insurance policy.
