Insulating rafters in unfinished basement
Anyone do this, have an approximate cost? I've learned that putting up insulation on the basement ceiling rafters can prevent damp and cold from rising to the first floor of a house.
The house we're looking at has none. This is probably one of the first things we would do, in preparation for winter.
I really don't want to get fiberglass in my skin and lungs, so we think we would hire this out.
Thanks ladies.

Re: Insulating rafters in unfinished basement
A previous house I had purchased had insulation.
It came that way and it only had a crawl spare. I would not do it myself in a crawl space but I would consider it in a full size basement. It's not hard at all to put insulation. You just need old clothes, safety glasses and gloves. I did it once with my dad.
