Instagram
New to instagram so bear with me.
My kids attended a camp this summer and they asked the parents to upload any pics of the kids at the camp etc to their instagram page etc...so I tried - uploaded the pic and tagged the # for the camp but it has not appeared on their instagram page. Is this because I have done something wrong or because they maybe reviewing the uploads etc?

The camp has it's own instagram profile? If so, you need to actually tag the profile, not just hashtag it. But you can still do it after the fact. Open up the picture you posted in Instagram and you'll see three dots in the lower left hand corner. Click Tag People and then search for the camp's profile. I think you have to actually follow the profile in order to tag it.
ETA: Though if you click the hashtag you used, it should show all the pictures, including yours, that are uploaded using that hashtag. Still not the same as tagging the profile, but doing both is better anyway.
ETAA: And if you want to see pictures that the camp's profile are tagged in, go to their profile page and under the description you'll see 4 choices- a grid of boxes all the way to the left, then three perpendicular lines, then a location tag, then all the way to the right a person looking tag (not sure how to describe it, lol!). Click the person tag and it'll show you all the pics the profile is tagged in.

Thanks - yes the camp has its own instagram profile and I tagged the actual profile and its still not appearing...do I need to comment and # too?

I use Instagram a lot. If you tag something or someone (like @camp) they will get a notification that they were tagged, but your picture won't show up on their profile/feed. But they will know that they were tagged in your photo so they could repost it or use it if they want. If you hashtag (#camp) they won't even know or get notified. They'd have to click on the hashtag and come across your photo to see it. Hope that makes a little sense!
Eta: I'm not aware of any way to get your photo to show up on someone else's feed. It's not like FB in that respect.

This. It won't show up on their profile unless they repost it.

This. It won't show up on their profile unless they repost it.
It will show up under the tagged photos. Not in their regular feed. If you click the facebook looking tag on their profile, it should come up in there.
