Insect bite with hard circle around it?
DD just woke up and was complaining that her leg was itching. It looked like a mosquito bite so I had her sit and went to put ice on it to take away some of the sting. It looks like a white dot in the middle with a red circle around it...the red part maybe the size of a nickel and the red part is hard. The pediatrician doesnt open until 9 so I will call and ask but I never saw a hard circle around a mosquito/spider bite. Anyone ever experience this before? Should I be really concerned?

Insect bite with hard circle around it?
Bring to ped, it COULD also be a staph infection (looks exactly the same) especially since you are saying it's hard. Often mistaken with a spider bite, best to get it checked out. My sister had a staph infection a few years back, regular one, and DH has had MRSA 3 times.

Dd has same. Dr just gave her a cream and we have to do benadryl every 6 hours. DR drew a circle around it and said if it doesn't improve within 48hrs it's cellulitis and she gave a prescription for meds.

This
DS had MRSA from daycare when he was 6 months old. Could be a staph infection.
