Injecting Meds and Anxiety
I have diagnosed anxiety. I take medication. I have noticed today I am extremely anxious. Just sitting on the couch now I feel it. I don't know if it is the hormones or what but this stinks! Any thoughts? BTDT experience? I am seeing the doctor tomorrow so I will mention it to him too. I am trying to stay positive but damn this stinks!

Re: Injecting Meds and Anxiety
Ive been more anxious and depressed through this journey than ever. I'm not sure if the injects are contributing to it, but I imagine they play a large role- think of all those hormones we are putting in our body! I think its totally normal to be anxious, but I highly recommend talk therapy and lots of it! (I should take my own advice )

Re: Injecting Meds and Anxiety
I think most of us get a little anxiety before jabbing ourselves in the stomach with needles!!! try distracting yourself with a funny movie or a funny friend. Def mention it your doctor though if you have a history of anxiety.
You can do this!!!

Re: Injecting Meds and Anxiety
Thanks ladies! I do have a therapist, but I have not seen her for about a year or so because I was doing well using breathing techniques and medications. I am hoping that I will be able to talk myself through it.
I find comfort in knowing I am not the only one experiencing this.
Thank you all.

Re: Injecting Meds and Anxiety
I can totally understand why you're having a tough time with this... especially since you don't have previous IUI cycles like so many of us do to "break you in" to using all the drugs.
It's really a lot .. and I got depressed about it during my first IVF cycle too, just feeling like it was so unnatural to be injecting myself with so many needles
Honestly.. my own BTDT advice is, try to go through the motions and don't think about it as much. Do the injections, and be done with it. Watch a movie.. shop online.. etc. The stim is really the part with the most injects, once you get past the ER, there are still drugs but it's not quite as intimidating. Plus, you will soon start focusing more on getting that sticky BFP, than worrying about what you're sticking yourself with!! Hang in there!!

Re: Injecting Meds and Anxiety
I've been struggling, too. I'm definitely less patient and irritable. My DH is driving me nuts. And I swore I needed a valium the day he gave me my HCG shot I was freaking out so much all day. I've been feeling better since the egg retrieval, and I felt so calm after the embryo transfer yesterday. But the irritability returned in about 2 hours! Ha!
These hormones really take over. Stay strong!

Oh! I am so sorry! I understand the need for Valium. I am glad you were feeling better too. Hopefully you will feel well again. I think this whole experience is anxiety filled. My mom said to me last night,... "being a woman is hard work,..." She is right!
