Injectables w/ Clomid or Full Injectables
Hi guys, met with my RE last week and he gave me 2 options if I get my AF next week.
I can either do :
Clomid with 4 to 5 days of injectables
or
a Full 10-12 days of just Injectables
Not sure which way to go .
My history: Been TTC naturally for almost 2 years now (just started seeing RE 5 months ago) . I am a 36 year old diagnosed with unexplained infertility. Husband has no known issues either. I have been on 50mg of clomid for the last 4 months this year with 3 IUIs so far.....now we are onto the next step....was just wondering what everyone else has done or would do..............

Re: Injectables w/ Clomid or Full Injectables
I am also unexplained IF. I tried clomid IUIs for 3 cycles. We then moved onto injectables (clomid really only helps you if you have ovulation issues and that was not my issue) IUI. I was a great responder to injectables. I got pregnant my first injectable cycle (unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 10 wks).
I tried this 3 more times and have no gotten pregnant since. We are now moving onto IVF. As time keeps passing by I just keep wishing we got more aggressive sooner. I am 31 and DH is 36.
I'm sorry. I know it's so hard to know what to do and so overwhelming. Honestly if it were me, I'd move onto full injectable cycle. Good Luck!!!

I dont really see the point in mixing both of them in the same cycle.
You already did the Clomid.......so I would definitely go Injectibles only for next cycle.

Re: Injectables w/ Clomid or Full Injectables
I will be doing a clomid/gonal f cycle this month. I am on 200mg of clomid and will start on the gonal next week. I have ovulation issues...I don't ovulate on my own and even with clomid I usually don't ovulate until CD24-CD30...so hoping that the gonal is my magic potion!

How many follies have you been producing with clomid? If its only 2, I would move on to injectables then. Don't be afraid of the shots, the first one will be scary and then you will be fine!!

Yeah, I was producing 1-2 mature follies each month, so it seems like injectables are the way to go.............

Re: Injectables w/ Clomid or Full Injectables
why WOULDN'T you mix them first? its a pretty common protocol. to be honest, im surprised this is a decision YOU are making, and not one that your RE has already made for you. if youve never used injectables theres no way to know how you would react so it really should be their decision, not yours. also from all of my own experience on injectables - i cant understand why you would need 10 days on them alone, vs. less with clomid?? that doesnt really make much sense to me unless they plan on starting you reallllllly slow. but even so its pretty uncommon to plan to stim for 10-12 days for an IUI cycle. i think you need more info before you can make any type of decision like that.
