Ingredients that you hate??????
Do you ever cook with these types of ingredients although you dont like them? I was just talking about htis with my friend Jennifer in an email yesterday. She hates cream cheese and so she will not cook with it - even if it doesnt really taste much like creamcheese in the final produce. I hate sour cream, but, I will cook with it in thigns like dips becuase you have to, as the recipe calls.
thoughts?

No - I don't cook with ingredients I don't like.
I hate curry and rosemary and thyme and cumin. I would never cook with them.

I do cook with them, but may put in less or omit it.
DH hates any kind of dairy - cream cheese, sour cream, etc ... I just don;t tell him I added it

I loathe celery. I will not cook with it no matter what. Other things I will cook with like peppers or red onions but celery is a big no-no for me.

I don't like nutmeg. I try to use it, and even if the recipe calls for half a teaspoon, I feel like it's the only thing I can taste. So I just leave it out.

I don't really like peppers. If a recipe calls for peppers I'll pass on the recipe. I don't like cilantro either.

DH loves onions, but I don't cook with them, because I get sick on them; Also, I have never been into spices other than pepper, and a tiny bit of salt!!!! Mary

it depends on the recipe and how much it calls for and how much is used.
like, I cannot take ginger. I won't put it in my stir fry, but I will use powdered ginger in a spice mix.
I also HATE peas but I will make them on occassion. I cannot eat broccoli (allergy) but I make it sometimes as well.
especially now that I have my son, I want him to try everything, and not just things that I like.
ETA: I also hate star anise and fennel and caraway seeds. I will try to add a bit of anise if it's it another spice mixture, b/c I WANT to like it. I just can't.
caraway seeds I hate. I don't even want to like them.
