Re: ING Direct

I happen to like Countrywide Direct savings.

If you have at least 10k, they have a savingslink account that yields 4.05%.

The best thing about Countrywide is the fact that they can do next day money transfers to another bank for free, no $$$$ limits either. You can send or receive money with them electronically and get it next day. Very nice feature.

ETA: Duh, it's down to 4.05%. Still a good rate though.

Re: ING Direct

I work at a Credit Union and everyones rates are going down. I have an account with them and I'm gonna stick it out rather than go through the hassle of changing

That's another nice thing about getting a Countrywide account. There really is no "hassle" in setting up an account.

You can open the account online. You fund the account online. You put your bank's routing and checking account number than you want to fill the Countrywide account with. I was done in 10 minutes!

I started earning interest with Countrywise like a day or two later after the electronic transfer cleared.

Then if times get tough and I need money quickly, I next day transfer money back to my credit union from Countrywide. I can set the transfer up at 6pm and the money will be in my account the following morning.

It really is a piece of cake.

I am going to stick it out too as everything is going down.
