Infiniti G35X and car seats
Does anyone have this car and if so do you have issues with putting an infant car seat in the middle of the back seat? I took my 3 1/2 year old nephew to the beach today and couldn't put his car seat in the middle. He had a larger seat one of the Eddie Bauer ones but when I buckled it in it just toppled over to the side. We just leased this car about 2 months ago and found out afterwards that I was pregnant...8 weeks. I freaking out because I don't know what we are going to do when the baby comes...I know they need to be in the middle.

Re: Infiniti G35X and car seats
My DH has that car and it is fine with both the infant carrier and the convertible carseat both rear and front facing. We never used the middle seat because the car has the latch system so that is what I used and never had any problems. I wouldn't be nervous with that car. I love it and am going to miss it when the lease is up.

I *think* that car seat is too big for the middle. And the middle is not necessarily the safest place in every car. I wouldn't worry about it. You and DH will learn where it needs to go when you have to

Re: Infiniti G35X and car seats
Thanks...I feel alot better now. This will be my first child...I was under the impression the infant seat HAD to go in the middle...glad to know that's not always the case.

Re: Infiniti G35X and car seats
If it helps, I had an older car and the seat simply wouldn't install properly in the middle (which is preferred, but not a requirement by any means). I HAD to install it on the passenger side of the back seat because in that car, it also needed the front seat to be really far up so behind me wouldn't work (and I'm not tall). So if the seat you choose won't fit in the middle, don't worry about it! Your baby will be safe on the side...one of the thoughts behind the middle is it's as far from points of impact as possible.

Re: Infiniti G35X and car seats
I have a Nissan Murano, which is basically the same car.
I never had my carseat in the middle, there's no latch and even if there was, we tried it too and it didnt fit right.
The passenger side of the car is def the next safest place. I have one carseat behind the passenger and the other behind the driver. Plenty of room!
I love my Murano! We almost leased the infiniti

Re: Infiniti G35X and car seats
I did notice today that the safety latches are on the passenger and driver sides...none in the middle. That obviously means it's ok to have them there...lol. We have another car that it would fit perfectly in the middle but it's a piece of crap so I would rather use the new one since it's so much safer. I feel so much better after reading these posts...thanks for your responses.
