Infant that needs CONSTANT attention
I am pretty close to losing my mind
Unless I am holding Derek, playing with him or feeding him he is whining and crying. The only other time he plays in the jumperoo or exersaucer is if TJ is playing right next to him.
I have a whole bunch of toys in his room. If I put him in his room to play and close the baby gate to fold laundry or something he stands up and shakes the gate and cries for me.
If I want to do the dishes or cook dinner I have to put him in the high chair next to me with puffs or something.
I am not used to this. TJ was always independent and played on his own and hardly whined or cried.
If by chance he gets distracted in the jumperoo or something and plays by himself we can't look at him or talk to him because if we make eye contact it is all over
I am pretty good at tuning it out but when he gets like that except what makes it worse is TJ imitates his cry because he thinks it's funny and my female dog howls loudly because his crying upsets her I feel like I live in a nut house.

Going through it right now with Lola
I remember it with Bella when she was about to crawl...kind of like they are letting go of you...a little separation anxiety

How did I know you would respond???
Funny you mention the crawling. It has gotten worse since he started crawling because that's all he wants to do. But I can't just let him roam because he gets into trouble...pulling himself up on everything and anything. He wants so badly to play with TJ.

This is going on with Ezra right now too. It's exhausting. I haven't been able to get anything done around the house, because of it. I was thinking it's part teething related, part separation anxiety. I can't even turn my back to him, he starts whining He's fine when we are out of the house though so I have been trying to be out and about as much as possible!

this is me -- EXACTLY! if we're home, i cant even turn my back. even if DH is in the room with her!
I'll try to sneak out of the room and she'll freak out! It's gotten to the point that i'll let her throw a little tantrum. It's only in the house though, so weird! If were out shopping, let's say -- she's good for HOURS! when I drop her at daycare she's fine! like - byebye mama, see you later! i dont get it

Re: Infant that needs CONSTANT attention
going through it right now with DS (7 mo). To be honest, I have used his newborn bouncy seat more in the past month than I have in the six months previous. I take him around the apartment like that and just hand him things to entertain himself while I do what I am doing. Eg. Just finished making chicken soup...I peeled a carrot and gave it to him...he played and sucked on that for 5 minutes....cleaned some celery and did the same....he enjoyed the potato...got 15 minutes out of him. he also enjoys watching our cat so I try to feed her a treat to keep her in the kitchen.

Re: Infant that needs CONSTANT attention
This was my entire last month with my dd (9 months)... it was soooooo bad I thought I was going to lose it. I couldn't turn my back for a second without her whining/crying. She was dealing with teething and an ongoing ear infection at the time, so I think that magnified it. I has been MUCH better since she got over the ear infection. She still will often whine when I walk away, but it is not every single time like it had been. I feel your pain

this is how it was with dd too. It was so exhausting... I agree with getting out of the house as much as possible, some days last month it was the only thing that saved my sanity.

Re: Infant that needs CONSTANT attention
Tyler is like this when he doesn't nap good that day. I literally can't even walk into the room bc once he sees me it's all over.
The other day I was at my wits end. I held him for 3 hours straight, so as soon as Jack woke up we got in the car and drove down by the beach. Jack got to look at the boats, Tyler got a much needed nap, and my poor arms got a break
