Infant swimwear

Dd will be 5 months old in July and we have a few summer trips planned where we hope she will go in the pool with us. I have some cute little bikinis that were hand me downs but I'm not sure how practical that is. I want to make sure her skin is protected from the sun (especially the August sun in Florida). I saw some rash guards for kids; should I get them?

One is short sleeves with a separate bottom and it says its SPF 30 on the tags.
Another is long sleeves with a hood that reviews say is great to keep their head covered (dd has almost no hair so I don't want her scalp to burn but I don't want her to be to hot).
Dh thinks its not necessary and that we can just lather her up with sunblock

I took my dd on the beach and I put her in a regular one piece bathing suit and a sun hat. I lathered her up with sunblock and we were under an umbrella. When she went in the water I kept her sun hat on. It had a nice large brim that kept her face covered. She was 7 months at the time.

ETA: Shes pale and she was totally fine. no sun burn. BUT it also wasn't august In fl and I know its hotter there.

I am a first time mom to a 6 month old, so I have no experience with bathing suits yet. But I was thinking a 2 piece would be much easier for diaper changes. I do think the rashguards are a good idea, personally. I got DD a suit similar to the Carter's one you posted, and a few sunhats to protect her head.
