Infant napping

DS has been sleeping through the night for the last 3 nights thanks to the Swaddle Me. But, for the last 2 days, he hasn't really napped. Maybe 20 minutes here and there. We went from napping for 2 hours to not napping at all! Then around 7:00 he starts to get really cranky. What's the deal?

DS is almost 10 weeks old.

Re: Infant napping

Sydnie usually takes cat naps but one good nap sometime in the afternoon. When I think she's ready for a good one, I put her in the swaddle me. Chat Icon

Re: Infant napping

Have you tried swaddling him for naps as well? The only way I could get my son to nap was the use the miracle blanket.

Same here, except we didn't use the miracle blanket, just a receiving blanket.

Re: Infant napping

DD is 4 weeks older than your DD. She never took long naps until about 3 weeks ago! She finally started taking at least 45 min naps, now sometimes they are an hour

Healthy sleep habits, happy baby, says that infants up to 4 months should nap every 2 hours. DD does, like clock work. The more they sleep, the happier they are and I do truly believe that. So maybe try that and he wont be cranky at 7. Or maybe his bedtime needs to be at 7??

I agree, I noticed that DD is always ready for bed by 6:30. I can't even push it later, she is so on clock with that one, now sleeps until 3:30 or so, which isn't bad that is 9 hours. Back down until about 5am...I assume it will get later as she gets older. But according to that book, Healthy sleep habits...infants need an early bed time.

same here but BEFORE every bottle..., but naps for as little as 10 minutes up to an hour. Only lately (5.5 months) did he start with the longer naps. My DS was never a good napper, but he always slept good at night.
