Infant glycerin suppositories?
Have you ever used these on your baby? DD is 3.5 weeks old and has been constipated for 2 weeks now. I have been stimulating her with a vaseline coated q-tip every day- sometimes twice a day, trying to give her relief. She was such a content and happy baby but has been miserable lately.
Anyway- I called the ped and they told me to try infant glycerin suppositories. Does anyone have any experience with these? Do they work quickly? Do they give stomach pains? Any advice?

I had to use them a few times. I couldn't find infant ones specifically, so I bought the childrens one and cut it into little slivers so I really only used less than 1/4th of one if that makes sense. It worked really fast-within minutes. Good luck!

DS has always been constipated. He is on Maalox which helps him go, but on days that he doesn't go, he gets a supp. I find that the liquid glycerin ones worked better. HE would just push out the others.

We've used them but cut them in half lengthwise. They've worked quickly whenever we have used them.

Re: Infant glycerin suppositories?
We used Baby Fleet, which is a liquid suppository. I found them at CVS and Rite Aid. When I asked the pharmacist for the infant glycerin suppositories they said they were the best ones.
They worked fast for ds. I can't speak to the gas or anything since he was in so much pain as it was I coudn't tell if it was worse, but he did calm down a lot after it worked.

I used the liquid glycerin too (Fleet) and the results were almost immediate. They were already lubricated and you don't have to put in too far into DC's hiney (just the tip) and you squeeze as much of the liquid in, and hold DC's little cheeks together for a few seconds and get ready for an explosion. It was painless for both of us.
