Infant Daycare
We are starting to think about our daycare option. A nanny is too $$$, so it will need to be a daycare.
We live in S. Huntington. I work in Mineola, DH commutes on the LIRR to NYC. We initially thought we'd use a daycare in Huntington. But now I am wondering if we want something near my office?
The plan is for DH and I to alternate pick ups. The benefit of closer to my work is I can get to DC faster if needed or visit during lunch. Con is that I don't always start my day in the office, and could be anywhere in LI/5 boroughs and my mom cannot visit the baby as easily as if they daycare was in Huntington.
Any thoughts? Any recommendations in either town? Thanks!

Re: Infant Daycare
I put my DS in daycare at 8 weeks. We looked at places near out house (farmingdale). We thought about near my DH's office (I work in the city) and we decided that it just would not be convenient if the other person ahd to pick up.
My DH drops off in the am since he goes in later and I pick up in the afternoon.
Let me know if you want reveiws on any places in the 110 area of Farmingdale as we looked a them all.

Re: Infant Daycare
My sister used Kindercare in Huntington from the time her ds was about 4mo. Both of her ds' have been there and LOVE it!

Re: Infant Daycare
I don't have specific recommendations in your area, but I also debated between daycare near home or my job, and decided on home for the following reasons:
1) I don't have to worry about him/her being upset in the car when I hit traffic.
2) My DH can drop off the baby if necessary, especially if there's a day that I'm sick and not going to work.
3) I can use the day care if I need to for a day or two during my weeks off.
4) I can run some errands after work before picking up the baby (I get out at 3:30, and day care is open until 5:30).
Good luck with your decision!
