Infant carrier and convertible car seat placement

DC #2 is due in 10 days, and Im not sure of the exact placement of the carseats. I looked online, but couldnt find the exact answer.

Im thinking infant carrier goes behind the passenger, and convertible carseat goes behind the driver.

Is this right?

Re: Infant carrier and convertible car seat placement

My friend just had number 2 this morning and that is how she did it. That is what the car seat installer recommended to her.

Re: Infant carrier and convertible car seat placement

I also think it's part preference. When DD was born (our first), we had her behind the driver in our minivan....lots of people suggested behind the passenger, but behind the driver worked better for us getting her in/out, etc...and no one could tell us how/why the passenger side was safer, so we did what worked for us.

Once she switched to front-facing, she went to the passenger side....so now the infant seat for baby #2 will go behind the driver again.

that's what we plan on doing. I would rather the infant behind the driver b/c of the carrier...I can take her in and out but DD1 is better off getting out sidewalk side (when we aren't in the driveway) b/c she walks. I don't want her walking in the street.

But can you see them in the second seat mirror if they are directly behind your head? That was my concern, but I see your point.
