Spraying Colors

Materials:
Large piece of newsprint
Spray bottle
Water
Food coloring
Sponge

To Do:
Securely tape the newsprint onto a low wall space or table. Fill the spray bottle with water that is colored with the food coloring. Spray the paper while the baby watches. Give baby a two-inch piece of sponge and help her to pat the paper as the water drips. "Catch that drop. Pat, pat, pat. See the pretty color."

Emerging Skill:
This is creative activity and the baby learns to copy you when you pat the paper. You will also be giving them vocabulary as you tell them about what you are doing.
