induction.....eating before?
i forgot to ask this today. i have an induction scheduled for friday at 7am. can i eat beforehand??

I was told not to eat after midnight the night before.

I was allowed to eat solids until they started Cervadil, then only clear liquids

I would eat because once you go in the hospital you won't be eating until after the baby is born.

This.
I went straight to the hospital from restaurants both times I was induced (and one was a HUGE Oktoberfest meal) and it was fine

Definitely. I was admitted at 3pm on a Thursday, and they wouldn't let me have solids until Saturday evening. So definitely eat before! I was starving!

They told me not to eat or drink after midnight, was induced at 7am the next morning.

i literally was eating as i was doing the paperwork to be admittted for my induction.
didn't eat for 40 hours after that so i was glad i did

I ate before I was induced because my doctor said it was ok to eat... And then when I got to the hospital and the on-call doc expected I'd have a c-section (possibly an emergency c-section) and I told him I have just eaten he was like what?!?
I was just thinking about this this morning actually. I'll be sure this is clarified in advance if I find myself in the same place.

I ate a huge Chinese food dinner before I was induced. I started with cervidil at 8pm and then started pitocin in the morning.

My doctor told me to go the diner and have a big breakfast before coming in for my induction - It could take awhile and you won't be eating until baby is born.

i was given cervadil at midnight and could only eat ice chips there on after. Before the cervadil, eating was ok

I ate the night before, in the morning before I left for the hospital, and then again at the hospital - they sent us to the cafeteria bc they were a little behind schedule.

The last meal I ate before being induced was at 3 in the afternoon and I was induced at midnight... most people are fine but I ended up throwing up as they were wheeling me to the OR for the csection after the induction failed. Had I eaten later at night that could have been ugly. I didn't eat again until the following day, I just wasn't hungry but that probably had to do with the pain meds.
