Heritage of India in New Hyde Park is very good.
It's at 2024 Hillside Ave, NHP. It is just west of Denton Avenue.

Jewel Of India - not sure what town it's in but it's in Nassau County
Curry Club - If you feel like taking a trip to Setauket - It's an excellent restuarant.
A Taste of India on Middle Country Road - I think it's Selden.

Akbar is the best. It is very close to Roosevelt Field. DH and I go every week.

If it's Sitar, we ate there last night and we though it was awful. There was way too much cilantro in everything.

Akbar is excellent. Jewel of India is also very good, on Jericho Tpke a little past Huntington.
Sitar was good but lately I don't like it. For really good Indian food go to Hicksville on 107, there's tons of places that are excellent or in Manhattan the Bombay Palace is my favorite
