Dh and I are really being broken in to having two kids. We brought ds home from the hospital on Saturday and dd woke up with the stomach virus on Sunday. Dh has been taking care of her in the living room and I've been with the baby in the bedroom. the virus started with vomiting mucous. she threw up at 230 pm for the last time yesterday and once this morning at 530. since then she has had 4bouts of watery stools. btdt is the virus in the way out? shes had it since 6 am yesterday. she is drinking and eating (only feeding her little bits of complex carbs....she won't eat bananas.)

Oh my gosh Usually these bugs are just 24 hrs. It's a good sign that she's keeping stuff down. The diarrhea can last a few days though.

Oh no! DS had one a little over a week ago. He vomited for less than 24 hrs and then had diarrhea for the following 3 days. His appetite wasn't back to normal until after the diarrhea stopped. Hope she feels better soon!

DISINFECT EVERYTHING... Those bugs last for over 2 weeks on surfaces.. And she is still contagious for 3 days after she stops with her symptoms!! Thats how it spreads all over.. Lysol spray and clorox wipes will kill it. The best is bleach and water... Toys, remotes, phones, door knobs, floors, crib/bed, anything and everything she touched. Your husband will probably get it. Confine him to one room too.. Good luck

Good luck! Definitely disinfect and keep them away - sometimes in smaller children it seems that the virus is over but, there is still a chance they may vomit again...

The bugs generally last 24 hrs and it sounds like she's on the road to recovery.

I would have someone pick up some Pedialyte to have on hand just in case the baby gets it. My older DS brought home a virus when DS 2 was 2 weeks old and we all caught it...
