in need of sleep advice
My son will be 1 in a week and has been ebf of course now eats solids in addition to that. I know that I have created a very tough situation for myself. So here goes. I have two issues napping and sleeping. My son is nursed to sleep it has been taking me 2 hours to get him down. He is also teething now too. He has been getting up after 3 hours and then I have been having my husband get him (most of the time) so he wont nurse. He has been not going to down for him the last few days. I take him into bed with me by 4/430 and nurse him and we get up at 530/6. There are nights that I just take him into bed with me because I am so tired and its easier (I work full time) Napping he only naps at home on me nursing. He cries and wont go down in his crib its a problem that I have created. He does sleep on his own of course at day care and does not nap long.
So i really know I need to fix this any advice or I will continue to never sleep.
I know the teething is rough and right now why it is worse and I think he is going through a growth spurt too..

Re: in need of sleep advice
IMHO you need to nix the nursing to sleep bit. We stopped nursing right before bed when DD was 4 months and I think it helped tremendously when we eventually got her to sleep through the night (6.5mos). It might be a tough first few nights, but try to switch the routine. We did (she doesn't nurse now) dinner, nurse, bath, books, bed. I truly believe bedtime routines are really important when getting babies to sleep through the night and it seems like you may have one, but you just want to remove the nursing right to bed in all situations (nap, bedtime, etc). You may have a hard time getting him to sleep the first few days, but if you are comfortable I'd probably do the Ferber method of timed extinction (going in to calm him down during timed intervals). My husband had to go in when we did it because I felt like when she saw me she assumed I'd nurse her.
I'm not sure if you are trying to wean? If you aren't then I'd probably keep the early am session and just go back to bed till your alarm goes off. For us, when she weaned from that session she just slept later.
