Immunologist called
and gave me the test results from all the blood work I had a few weeks back.
Apparently I have restricted blood flow along with 2 copies of factor 13 and 1 copy of MTHFR. She said something else too but it was hard to hear. I'll eventually get it in black and white on the summary. Also my NK and TH1 cells are elevated.
So they want me to take lovenox and prednisone during the IVF cycle.
Anyone have any wisdom they wanna offer from their experience with any of this stuff?

Re: Immunologist called
Sorry, I forget... have you been on lovenox before?
The only wisdom I can offer with that one is some injection tips to (hopefully) help minimize the bruising. I went very slow (put the needle in slow.. injected slow.. ) and also at a slight angle instead of going directly in. Some people don't have issues with bruising, but I did BADLY so doing that seemed to help.
Prednisone has crappy side effects.. no way around it. However, if it helps bring you your baby, WHO CARES I found I gained more weight on prednisone than on just hormones alone. Once I stopped the prednisone, my weight went back down quickly. At least the effects aren't long term.
Like any of the crap we do to ourselves to start a family... it stinks in the process, but if it brings you your baby, you just sorta roll with it and care less about how you look or feel.

Re: Immunologist called
I never had an issue with prednisone othe than when I stopped taking it, my psoriasis came back with a vengeance. Lovenox burns but injecting slowly helps.

Re: Immunologist called
I did both Pre and post ivf. I also did intralipids. I only have 1 copy of mthfr and some other elevated clotting issue so I take lovenox through pregnancy too. I weened off prednisone beginning at 10 weeks but I'm continuing intralipids every 3 weeks til 20 weeks. It's a food based infusion (soy and egg) that a nurse comes to my house to administer.
You do what you have to. Ita extra shots and pills but worth it in the end. Oh andi found that the real lovenox is better than the generic. The generic always burned me.

I haven't been on it before but I did get a sense of the bruising factor from reading some of the ladies' posts.
And I'm not looking forward to getting fat from prednisone over the summer (during skimpy clothes and beach season) but you're totally right: priorities.
I'll do anything.

I was on lovenox until just recently. I did not have many bruises from it at all and was on very high does until I gave birth.
If you are on 40mg shots let me know cause I have about 15 shots left over you can have.
