i'm loving my bread
i started baking my own bread, last summer. i made a few good loaves with white bread. we, wanted to save money AND have something healthier.
along the way i made enough bricks to build a shed in the back yard, but i kept at it. some were ok, some were not so ok. i felt like this guy:
i think that i've figured it out!!!!
sunday, i started making a new loaf, and baked it yesterday... today, i'm having my first slice of this latest change to the recipe... by golly, i think i did it.
it's a little sweet, it's nutty, it's got about 33%? whole wheat, it's got oats... it's soft and fluffy.
i think i got it!
i think i'm going to have a sandwich for dinner, just to verify
wow, it only took me about FIVE MONTHS!!!

Re: i'm loving my bread
That's awesome! 5 months is pretty good if you ask me. I tried to make bread in a bread maker and it came out more like a sponge than bread. I give you a lot of credit for making it from scratch.

i've heard a lot of people say that about bread machines.
give hand-kneeding a shot! it's fun! it's like play-dough for grown ups... you get to beat it up a bit

I will have to try that then. Maybe I can even get my step-daughter involved b/c she loves play-dough. lol
On a side note - I am a paralegal, so if you ever need anything, let me know
