I'm having a selfish/immature preggo moment

I know that I sounds like a big baby, so just bear with me while I b!tch and moan for a moment. My best friend called me last night to tell me she's pregnant. Again. This is her 3rd unplanned pregnancy, and the second one right on my heels. My DS and her first are 3 weeks apart. She wasn't even married yet when she was preggo for the first time. Needless to say, everything amongst our friends was about the two of us. never just about me and my baby. Ok, whatever, I got over it. And in a lot of ways I LOVED having her as my preggo partner and I love that our DC are close. Anyway, last year she gets pregnant again unexpectantly. She just had DD #2 in February. I on the other hand tried for almost a year to get pregnant this time. I just found out last month i was pregnant. And yes, selfishly I was very happy to be the only one pregnant this time and none of my friends were even trying. And then I get the call last night. It turns out that she had her last AF about a week to two weeks after my last one. And because she has big babies, she has c-sections about 2 weeks before her due date, which means she will probably have this baby before I even have mine. It just would have been nice if I could have had a little time to enjoy this feeling before having to share the spotlight. AGAIN. OK, childish vent over.

It's got to be your hormones!!! I understand you feel she stole your thunder again! She really didn;t though. Just think how distraught and heartbroken you'd be if you weren't pg and she told you she had another unplanned one. You'd be devestated b/c you've been trying for so long. So yeah, my point is that even though you are aloud to have a childish moment- the truth is YOU ARE PG and nothing can be better than that. You would have agreed to be pg with ALL your friends if that's what it took for you to have another baby. KWIM?

It took you & your husband a lot to get to this place, I dont think you should let anything steal your joy. Just be happy for her & happiest for yourselves.

Congrats again!!

Re: I'm having a selfish/immature preggo moment

I have this sort of thing going on in my life with my bil and sil. We get engaged, they got engaged the day after out of the clear blue while my dh was planning for a year. we get married they get married. we move to knigs park- they moved to kings park, we got pregnant, they got pregnant a week after and she wound up have the baby early, 9 days before me, Second time around we got pregnant of course they said that they were trying too and got pregnant 3 months after. We share the same family so I never get to have any spotlight, its really annoying- and it makes them look like the idots trying to follow everything that we do. On the other hand it is nice to go thru things together and have our sons so close together in age- they are really close like brothers.

I know you're right. And the fact that I'm pregnant is the most important thing. My vent is purely me being hormonal, but I can't help feeling a little jipped.
