I'm going crazy over here!

Our new dog is giving us a really hard time!
He totally forgot that dogs aren't supposed to "go" where they sleep.

Potty training him has been really hard. He just goes when he feels like it. I take him out often, but he still does it.
I crate him, but he goes in the crate!!!

Well, today was the worst. I go in the kitchen to find that he has pooped in the crate!
He pooped 3x already! I took him out a few hours earlier and he was in the crate for no more than 2 hours.
I am soooo frustrated.
He's 3 years old. I really don't know what his old owners did with him, but you would think a 3 year old would have this down already. I am so glad we have him now and not them.

Relatively speaking, potty training was a BREEZE with our 1st dog. We had him since he was a puppy and he NEVER went in his crate. (he went everywhere else, lol)

Does anyone have any advice??????

I just want to scream!!!

But on a good note, he's going on monday to get the stitches removed from his eye! And he won't have to wear an e-collar anymore

This seems so odd.. What is his feeding schedule? Did you change his food? I want to say let him out more but I have a feeling thats not possible!! Every 2 hrs seems more than you should have to already for a 3 yr old pup! Is he going all over the house too? I hope your dog wont pick that up!! I am so sorry, I know I would be frustrated as well. Maybe his stitches have something to do w/it?

Is there any chance it's a medical issue? I'd ask the vet to check.

I'm really starting to think it's a medical issue.
Since he's going to the vet on Monday, I'll ask them and maybe run some tests.

His food was changed, but he was weaned very slowly. And that was about 2 weeks ago
He eats 2x a day (~10am and ~9pm), same as my other dog.

Hi! I was going to suggest the vet take a look at him also. Maybe it could be nerves? Have you had any changes that could be upsetting him? Good luck I know how hard it can be to have a doggie that isn't interested in potty training!
