I'm freaking out....don't think I'm crazy.
They haven't officially given me my sonogram pic of the girly parts and after yesterday's completion of the Level II, I am just freaking out today! Having some some of anxiety thing...what if I am having a boy? Everyone is already asking about her by name-what if "she" is a "he"???
I can't stop thinking about Ang-Rich's story-it was her right? I am getting so attached to the gender at this point that I just need to know...
What would you all do???

I think that from all the stories I've heard about girls being boys it's natural to be nervous. But - I'm sure they were right so I wouldn't worry about it that much. I know that I am worried about it now for my next pregnancy --- thinking "what if that happens" -- but, some things are out of our control - and I would just make sure that with every sono you check her privates.
Are you going for a 3D sono also?

I was also freaking out because we had the same outcome from our level II. I'm actually surprised it wasn't the same office because our stories were so similar. We were actually thinking about a 3D, just so we could officially know. This was because we are buying our own place and we were going to be painting and decorating. Then, as luck would have it, we had a scare and I was rushed to the doctor because the baby wasn't moving. They did another sono and we actually got pics of the parts.

try not to stress. I would speak directly to your doctor and tell him your concerns and that you are VERY upset because you did not get a photo from your last sono especially of the gender parts. You can explain your reasons and he should understand. I would not have walked out of there that second time without one! That tech had some nerve!!

I *think* that Ang-Rich was told at her 3D that it was a girl- but later found out boy.
Even with 2 confirmatory sonos down, I am STILL a bit freaked that she might actually be a boy....

I think you are right come to think of it! I personally would do it just to try and see the parts for myself and to get a shot of them, but I guess there really is always room for error.

Is it just me or do the technicians sometimes seem annoyed when you aske for a pic? I dont mean to single out the technicians but my doctors always seem alot more friendly when it comes to handing out the pictures.
This one technician that Ive had at North Shore gives me an attitude every time I ask for a "head shot". The last time she basically just put the head in view a gave me a picture and said that that was the best she could do. Then the doctor came in and I asked her for a pic (and told her what happened) and she spent a good 10 minutes getting me the 3D picture. She was like of course you want a good pic.

They have the capability there for 3D, I'm pretty sure, but I just want a good, old fashioned confirmation darn it....it's their fault this whole thing has been screwy.

We were so confused by that point that we kept joking that well you could turn Jack into Jackie if you really had too!

Yes, Ang-Rich was told at her 3D (I believe she was 24 weeks) that she was having a girl. They found out at 30 weeks it was a boy.
I don't think it's about the sex. To spend so much time bonding with the sex you think you are having only to be told differently must be

It's not that it "matters" boy or girl- of COURSE I want my baby to be healthy first. HOWEVER, I have spent the last 20 weeks bonding with and planning for my baby girl, Maddie. If I wind up with a Matthew (our boy name), I will be be thrilled, but initially be unpleasantly shocked and at a loss.....

I don't think it has anything to do with a preference on if you are having a boy or a girl. But if you are told that you are having a certain sex - you automatically bond with that thought. You plan your future and your family around the thought that you will have a little boy or girl around. Of course - if a mistake happens then it happens - but the nice thing about technology today is that it helps us to prepare and plan for what the future will bring.
Everyone wants a healthy baby first and foremost, that doesn't even need to be said.
