Im clueless please help!
A friend of mine isnt due to the end of dec but was brought to the hospital last week for contractions they gave her something and sent her home. She is now 2 cm dilated and 50% effaced..does this mean the babys coming soon? theres no way shes making it to her due date right?
im confused what does effaced mean?

I think effaced means its how wide your cervix is opened. Correct me if i am wrong anyone?
I was 90% effaced at 30 weeks with my first and they also had to give me medicine to stop the contractopns. But i was put on bedrest and Nicholas ended up coming one day late.

How far dilated you are refers to how open your cervix is. When you're 10cm dilated you are ready to deliver the baby.
How far effaced you are refers to how thin your cervix is. When you're 100% effaced you're ready for delivery.

She definietly is not making it to December, but it could be another 2 weeks or so. I stayed 1cm for over a week.
