I'm being induced!

When I had my 36 week growth sono on 4/28, they saw a strange spot on the placenta, so they sent me for a more in-depth sono to get a better look at it.
It turns out there's no blood flow to the spot at all, which is a good thing, since that means it's not a tumor. The problem is, they don't know what the spot is. Probably a clot and it's nothing, but still....

So, yesterday I went for a biophysical and my 38 wk appointment. My OB said the baby looked great, the biophysical numbers were great. However, she's concerned that this spot on the placenta is a sign that the placenta is starting "to crap out" and wants to schedule an induction.
Oh, she also did an internal yesterday and said I'm starting to efface and barely a fingertip dilated.

I go back Monday for another biophysical and internal - and then I go to the hospital Thursday night to start the cervadil!!!
It's only a week early, but for some reason I'm totally freaking out! I'm not even dialated yet, so I'm scared I'm going to wind up with a c-section -- I told DH we better start doing the deed this week to hopefully jumpstart something on our own

It is so strange to think that in one week I'm going to know or !

I am being induced Wednesday, 2 weeks early. Try walking, I walk everyday just around the block a few times and am now 3 cms dilated. An inductions does not always equal a c section, there are so many moms on the parenting board who had great induction experiences.

Its great that your dr is so on top of everything, better an induction now then a real problem later.
