I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight but my mid-section still looks awful. Does your stomach ever go back to normal?

I'm 2.5 months pp and back down to my pre-pregnancy weight but my stomach area looks awful. Between the linea nigra, stretch marks, and the extra flab, I am not liking my body at all. I had a flat stomach before I was pregnant. No six pack but I felt comfortable in a bikini. So depressing!

Did your stomach ever go back to normal?

My cousins all have sick bodies after having all of their children. They are all my inspiration. I knew I was getting pregnant again after Jack so I wasn't very motivated, I will be after this one is born.

They look better after pregnancy than they did before!

Totally can get better! I am almost 40, never had a great belly before but lately I have been working out like a demon and its slowly looking better than before! My SIL who has three kids has an awesome belly now. I think it just takes a lot of hard work. According to my MIL, a tummy tuck doesn't hurt either

Forgot to say, that 2.5 months is NOTHING! I still looked pregnant at that point, even when sucking it in! I had lost all the weight already too. So hang in there- it really does take time

everyone is different...depends on so much including, number of pregnancy, age, genes, fitness - to name a few. With ds I was in a bikini by 4 mths pp ( I was very young and fit).


now with dd, I am 4 mths pp and almost at pre preg weight, but still soft mid section - BUT I haven't exercised and had a c-section. It seems to be getting better with time.

I would think 2.5 mths is very soon for anyone to be completely back. I think despite the rapid weight loss, the skin needs time to go back too.

my mid-section looks like a train wreck, completed with hanging/mushy/droopy love handles

eta I just spent $300 on Spanx
returning to work next week, all my suits are tight on me

It's just so depressing going shopping. Everything looks awful on me.

I have a bunch of weddings and other events I have coming up. I guess I'll have to bust out the spanx. Sigh.

2.5 months is not enough time after giving birth to feel or look "normal" again. I feel very confident in my body right now and DD will be 6 months on the 25th. I wore a bikini this past weekend and was definitely not ripped, but with a little sucking in, had a pretty flat stomach. I need to tone all over though. I haven't really worked out since 6 months pregnant.

I still look a little pregnant 5.5 months pp. I figure it took me 9 months to get as big as I was, it will take at least that long to start looking"normal" again.

yes, but you really have to work hard....2.5 months pp is nothing...at that time I had lost 45 lbs and was at my pre-preg weight, but it took a good year to get any semblance of my old stomach back...it took lots of working out and starving!

haha. that's fun! the burn of getting your stomach muscles back to the place that they were in before separating to make room is the best!!!

i am 3.5 years after my last kid and i am not at pre pregnancy weight. my goal is to get to my wedding weight... 20 pounds to go and counting!!

13 mos post partum and I still don't look the same.

is it possible? Absolutely, but I think it takes most people a LOT of work to get there.

I am 5 llbs lighter than PP weight and DD will be 3 this week....and NO tummy still doesnt look "right"

I weigh less than I did pre pg but look 10 times worse. I once heard someone say its the melted candle syndrome....same amount of wax, totally different shape. Im almost 2 years PP, and Im so flabby and stretched out its not even funny.

Actually, I am at least five pounds under and two years past my last pregnancy...I am pretty happy with my stomach. But ya know what? I've actually forgotten what my "old" stomach looked like! I did have a c-section and have this strange "pouch" thing right above the incision site that never went away...otherwise, I'm cool! Rockin' my Land's End tankini...but cool nevertheless!

well, its still kinda early so you may get lucky. My stretch marks never went away. My DD is 10 months. My dermatologist gave me a cream but its not working. My Dr said some people just aren't lucky - they dont go away. My stomach looks REALLY bad!

Sorry to be so negative, hopwfully you will be lucky and they will shrink.

I look exactly the same before I got PG. I should qualify that by saying I had a huge weight loss years before and because I am older, the elasticity of my skin (or lack thereof), did not allow it to firm up. After baby #2, it goes.

I'm 2.5 years pp and my stomach is not the same as it was. I'm 2lbs over my pre-pg weight and my stomach is flat but the skin still looks like a balloon that was stretched out and deflated.
