I'm at a Public Library
for my internet and seating next to the front door and boy you'll be surprised by the amount of people trying to leave without checking out the books... The alarm goes off and it's been going off like crazy today...

I work in a library and most of the time it's just that the ladies at the front desk didn't (or didn't properly) de-magnetize the security devices in the books. It's not hard...I think they're just too busy chatting to be bothered lol

That's crazy! I don't think my local library here actually has those things on the books that ring if you take them out without taking out the books.
They do have self-checkout, though, which is kinda cool. They're so lax around here they probably don't care if you just take the books... although I wouldn't try it.
