I'm a mommy
Hi Everyone!
I finally found some time to get on here and introduce my little girl.
Quick Birth Story:
I was induced Tuesday morning after having cervadil inserted Monday night. I was so relieved to find out that I had already dilated to 2 cm and was 50% effaced before the cervadil even went in. Tuesday morning when they took it out I was 3cm and 80% effaced. I had an enema and then the doctor broke my water and started pitocin. Contractions started, although they may have already started over night with the cervadil (couldn't tell if it was just cramping). Overall my labor really was not very bad. I got the epidural fairly early. For some reason I was trying to hold off bc I felt like maybe I needed to endure some pain. DH, my doctor and the nurses thought I was crazy and said if you are gonna get it, then get it now. No sense in waiting. I'm glad I listened bc as the anesthesiologist was on his way in, the contractions started getting more intense and I was very uncomfortable. After the epidural I was able to sleep and I didn't feel anything. By 6pm I was 6cm dilated. I asked for some more epidural. At 7:45 I felt some intense pressure and turned out I was 10cm, 100% effaced and ready to push. I started pusing at 8pm and had her at 9:12. Pushing was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my whole life. But worth every ounce of the pain. DH was so great the whole time. He watched everything and is so proud to tell everyone he got to see her head coming down.  .
Emmanuella (Ella) Rose was born at 9:12pm on Tuesday, June 21st. She weighed 6lbs, 10oz and was 19.5 inches long. She is an absolute joy. I can't even believe she is really mine. DH and I are head over heels in love with our little girl and each day has been getting better and better. She is nursing well, sleeps like a champ and has captured the hearts of everyone who has met her so far. I don't know how I lived life without her.
