I'm a leaf thief and I'm not alone
Last year, I started stealing bags of leaves from my neighbor's curbs. To add to my (misguided) homemade compost cans. I upped the ante when I found out a neighbor had a Sweet Gum tree and stole bags of their seeds from their curb also. With the intention of using them as mulch around young plants. To thwart squirrels and bunnies.
I'm getting more serious about setting up an actual working compost pile and doing research on it. I found a forum at GardenWeb and in their FAQ is a lingo guide. In it, it says:
"Leaf Thief
Someone who prowls their neighborhood (usually under cover of darkness) "rescuing" OPBL from the curbside."
OPBL is "Other People's Bagged Leaves"

Does anyone else here a leaf thief? Or compost at all?

As long as I rake them first, right?

Greeny, we get a lot of leaves, you're more than welcome to them!!
Consider it a "leaf donation".
