Ikea
Haven't been here in years!
Is it still crazy and insane? I want to buy some cheapy furniture and they don't really sell anything online it seems.
Just don't know if it would be worth it, especially because I would probably have my 2-year-old with me.
I also have heard bad stuff about their delivery but that was also years ago. TIA!

I love Ikea! I got my living room couch and a recliner from there - not cheapy looking or quality at all. A good value as far as I'm concerned.
If you are going to go, I would get there as soon as it opens to avoid the crowds.
I'm sorry, I don't have experience with the delivery part, we always did it ourselves.

I wish I had an Ikea close by, but the one time I trekked out to Nassau it was a zoo and DH and I left. I definitely think they have great stuff and I get inspired by their catalogs.

-weekend mornings are next best
-I feel they have become slightly more pricey
-delivery is too much $ I think

Thanks. I know if I go here, I am on my own......DH refuses to set foot in stores like this. In fact, I think the last time we went there was right after we moved into together to an apartment, and he had an "episode" between dealing with the crowds, the mess and just the lack of service.

since the one in red hook opened, we only go there. its so much better than the one in hicksville. less of a zoo and parking's way better.
also, we are more familiarized with that stupid layout so we can navigate the store easier. its so easy to get lost/caught up in stuff you dont need but all of a sudden think you do.
btw theyve got awesome cheap wrapping paper right now

I love the one in Hicksville. DH and I got a load of stuff from there recently.
We didn't really have an issue with their delivery- we had the guy that we arranged delivery with make a note that they were to call and confirm and also provide a time frame...it was not on the money like we had hoped but also take into consideration that they use a 3rd party for deliveries.
If you do go, I recommend going early (like as soon as they open in the moring), especially if you go on a weekend.

I really like Ikea. I'm in Brooklyn so we shop at the one in Red Hook. Going to that location after work isn't too bad (sometimes check out takes awhile) but I prefer Saturday mornings. If you can get there at those times, I think you should check it out.

I have learned to appreciate ikea. Most of our furniture is PB, CB, MGBW and Thomasville. We bought all of DDs play furniture from there. I like that it is modern, decent quality and if DD ruins it, I won't be crying about the pricetag-I would've spent atleast 3x as much at PB kids. I've started incorportatingfurniture/accessories from them and wish that I gave them a chance earlier on.

My parents bought my sister a beautiful bedroom set there about a year ago - does not look cheap at all - actually quite the opposite! They then bought a large desk for their office - we liked it so much we went and bought our own desk and chair there this weekend. I love it!

XH works for them and this is how we used to shop there.
we had something delivered. the $$ was too much, for my taste, but the service was great
