ikea?

has anyone ever purchased kitchen appliances (fridge, stove, etc) from ikea? what about cabinets or countertops? if so, could you tell me what your experience was and what the quality is like?

Our cabinets, counter (butcher block) and sink are from Ikea.....its almost 5 years later and they are still going strong. The quality is AWESOME! Theyve withstood a toddler, sturdy, good looking....LOVE THEM. You cant be the quality for the price either. If I ever do a kitchen over again, I will never spend 30,000 on a kitchen and would do Ikea again in a heartbeat. We redid the entire kitchen, with a custom pantry, customized cabinets inside, some cabinets with drawers, new counters and a new sink, all for like $1500.

Ikea cabinets have come a looong way and are of great quality!!! We don't have them, but I know a few people who do that love them! I would absolutely buy cabinets/countertop from there.

As far as appliances... I'm not sure I would buy from Ikea. You can get some great deals at Sears. That's where we got ours.

Just got our entire kitchen from Ikea...Everything is brand new so I can't tell you how it's held up over time but everything looks good & is working really well! Appliances are actually made by Whirlpool, so far so good and they lookk really nice! Counters are silestone quartz...they look beautiful & quality is great. Cabinets took a few trips to the store to finally get all the right parts/pieces but they look great now, even have the soft close doors & drawers.
I'm happy with it so far, would definitely recommend & you cannot beat the price!!!

We have Ikea cabinets and are very happy with them. We've had them for 3 years now and they look just as good as they did day 1. I love they have features of the higher end cabinets (like the drawers close on their own.) We now have two toddlers who are constantly opening and closing (well slamming) shut the doors, and they are still look and perform perfectly.

I bought an Ikea cabinet because with the gas leak we had some demo. I might be in the minority but I do not like them (adel brown). The cabinet door is very rough and the paint is coming off. Also when I nailed the back on the wood split. This being said that if custom and home depot is not in our budget I might get them since my husband has not problem with them.

We purchased our co-op in 2008 and the kitchen had been redone two owners ago with Ikea brand everything. The kitchen has held up remarkably well - a few loose drawers that were easy to fix here and there, but overall great! We were thrilled to have a functional, updated kitchen and not have to put any money into it. I would imagine the kitchen is somewhere around 8-10 years old now.
