If you've had a D&C - Questions
I didn't get a chance to ask my OB yesterday and I'm hoping you ladies could share your experience.
1. Do they test the fetus to determine what went wrong? Will they share this info with me?
2. Do they tell you the gender?
I understand that these are horrible questions, but my curiosity is getting the best of me...
Thanks so much!

Yes, they do genetic testing on the baby and you could find out the gender if you ask. (it takes about 3wks for the dr to get the report)
The only thing to be aware of is if it comes back as normal female, there's a chance there was an error and a sample of your tissue was tested. Ugh I'm do sorry you have to go through this It's much harder emotionally than physically, do try not to get too worried about the procedure (if that's at all possible!!)
I'm here anytime!
Eta: I hate to bring this up now but it's so important to avoid what happened at my d&c last year. Reinforce that you want a gentle d&c. Its really important to preserve your lining for future pregnancies.

Re: If you've had a D&C - Questions
Thank you thank you thank you!!!
I still haven't decided whether or not I want to know the gender, but I think not knowing will just nag at me forever. Monday will bring some closure to this horrible experience and I pray that I never have to endure this again.

Yes they will tell you what went wrong and what the gender is IF you want to know.
After much thought jimmy and I decided we did NOT want to know. I still think about it

We decided that we do want to know.... The unknown would just drive me nutty.
