If your toddler takes just one nap

How long is it?

We're just starting with one nap - DS is 14 months. But he still only naps for 1 to 1.5 hours at a time. I'm hoping it will get longer, because I don't think it's really enough.

That's all we get from Will, too. Basically 11 hours at night, and if we are lucky 1.5 hours mid-day. It's not like he's super tired by the end of the day either, so I think he just doesn't need much.

He's only 4 months? Or did I read that wrong? At 4 months I think DS was still taking 3 naps.

We went down to 2 sometime after 6 months and dropped to 1 not till after 1 yr old. Some days he naps 2 1/2 hours, some days it's only an hour, he's always been a crapshoot napper though.

Wow... 4 months seems young to only have 1 nap. Mason didn't start taking one nap till around 13 - 14 months. Also it depends on the day.
Usually it's a 1.5 - 2 hour nap in the afternoon. He's 16 months

at 4 months my girls were still taking 3 naps. they dropped to 1 nap around 14 months. Some days its an hour and some days its 2.5hrs.
My friend recommended that you give them a full belly before they take a nap so that way they don't wake up for hunger. When I do that they take close to 3 hours.

Ann is down to one nap at daycare but usually still takes two on the weekends or one at a completely random time.

Anyway, her weekday naps are usually 1.5 - 2.5 hours.

DS is almost 2, he sometimes takes 2 naps. But when he takes one nap, it ranges from 2-5 hours.

Did I read this right--a 5 hour nap!? How many hours does he sleep at night?

DD is almost 14 months and takes one nap around 12. She sleeps for about 2 hours.

Sometimes she'll get up after 1 hour and whine a little, stand up, roll around but I know she's still tired (rubbing her eyes) and if I leave her in the crib after 5-10 mins she goes back to sleep for another hour. I told MIL to leave her b/c she was taking her out after an hour thinking she was done with her nap, but when she left her in she went back for another hour. Can you try to leave him after the hour to see if he goes back to sleep?

at least 1.5 hours, sometimes as long as 3 hours. from 12:30 to 330pm

DD is almost 19 months and naps for 2-3hrs

DD is 18 months and naps once a day for 1-2 hours.

DD usually takes 2/3 hour nap, if it is shorter then sometimes she ends up taking a second nap or going down earlier that night.

DS takes one two hour nap.

DS is 14mo. he is good for 1.5-2 hours, some days a little longer
