If your toddler/preschooler was a really active baby

what are they like now? I think we are in trouble and would like to hear from BTDT parents of active babies
My DD is such a mover and shaker (8.5 months) and I am wondering if she is going to be the kid running away form me, not holding my hand when shes older. My DS was so good and yes he was active as a baby but not like her. He would sit and play with toys, didnt touch everything. She is the opposite...she climbs the baby gate, tries to get in the fireplace, pulls over our stools, pulls up on anything she can find,and squeezes in every crevice known to man Any house we go to they have to take everything off tables or anywhere she can pull up on or get to b/c she will get it. I cant even mention the things we find in her mouth My family and friends think its funny that shes so active but me and DH are exhausted. I cant leave the room b/c I dont know what she will get into. THANK GOD for my almost 3.5 yr old...he looks out for her all the time and is our eyes and ears if we turn around at all. Sorry for rambling...she is definitely going to cause grey hairs to come in soon!

DS was VERY active as a baby--I think part of the reason he was sort of colicky in his younger months was that he could not move. As soon as he learned to crawl, he was a MUCH happier little guy.

This continued until maybe around 2.5 or so. Then he started to slow down--he could sit and listen to stories, watch a TV show, got interested in puzzles and some crafts. Before that point, it was so hard to get him to sit for anything, now he is still active, but not as much. He's almost 3 by the way.

So no, I don't think they always stay AS active, though if the tendency is there, they may always be active children.

you just described my middle kids. I used to call them gizmo and stripe. they were wild and rambunctious. they are older now 2.5 and 3.5 so they are a little more fearful kwim? They know better when it comes to certain things whereas before they were completely fearless. My girls would get into everything. They were climbers, and jumpers. I never knew what was next.
They are still the same more or less but a lot toned down.
