If your newborn only napped in a swing....
or a bouncer or stroller, did you have to wean them off of it once they got older, or did they just grow out of it. DS is 7 weeks and will only nap in a contraption. He also was doing longer stretches at night and now he's back to every 3-4 hours and I'm wondering if it's because his pack and play isn't swinging or vibrating! Am I creating the worst habits to break?

amazon has a vibrating , music/ nightlight thing that attaches to the crib $30..... TOTAL LIFESAVER!!!. i think target showed it on there wb too....

DD is 9 months old and still will only nap in the swing.
we are putting her in a twin this weekend, so hopefully she will start napping in the bed

For the first 7.5 months of her life dd would ONLY nap in a swing. I would have anxiety attacks about breaking the habit but my ped said he didn't care where she napped for the first 8 months of her life. So around 7.5 months I attempted to go cold turkey with the crib naps. Now I had tried this before at various points and it NEVER worked, but strangely enough at 7.5 months we had zero problem with the switch. I think she was finally ready and thats why the cold turkey switch was ok. She goes down great in the crib now, something I could never ever have predicted before she was 7.5 months!

DS only naps in the swing, bouncy seat or being held right now (except when he's at daycare - he sleeps in his crib for them).
We're going to start working this week to get him to start napping in his crib. He sleeps in there at night (but, he is no longer STTN).
DS is 16 weeks old.

DD would only nap in the swing or on me for the first 4-5 months but would sleep great at night on the pnp. She started to outgrow the swing so we started putting her down for naps in her crib sometimes. She would cry and I would rock her a little and put her back and then sometimes only nap for 20 mins but she eventually got used to it and naps 2+ hours now in her crib.
ETA: it was actually when she started belly sleeping that she napped better/longer in her crib.

DD only napped in the swing for the 1st 4-5 months.
One day I just said...OK, time for the crib and surprisingly enough, she slept better in the crib and transitioned without a problem.
