If your first (or subsequent) pp periods are HEAVY

This is getting to be ridiculous!!! At 10.5 months pp I finally got my first period. And sorry if it's TMI for some but i'm practically hemoraging here. It started Sunday night and I have no idea how I'm still alive I've lost so much blood. I'm changing pads and tampons like every 2 hours. It's still just as heavy today. Is this normal? Should I call my gyn?

Also, since it's been forever it seems since I've been on the pill for real, I forget....do I start it the day after my period ends??? I can't believe I don't remember but I don't..... I'm hoping that will help the next one be shorter and lighter (which is what it did to my period all the years before I was pg that I was on it).

In the beginning mine were like that... I got my first one at about 3 months PP. But after 2 months, they got much lighter and are back to my normal 2-3 day periods thank g0d!!!!!! I am not on the pill!

It's funny, mine were so much lighter and shorter after having DD.

The first 2 or 3 were VERY heavy for me. Then they started to be 'normal' again.

Ever since I had Eva ( 1 1/2 yrs ago) they are bad for me ! I go through pads hrly

mine have been WORSE ever since having DS. 11 months later and they still are horrid.
