If your child is/was allergic to Egg Whites how did you know?

ETA DS's Symptoms: So DS has been having egg yolk with no problems since 9 mos. But, every time I have given him the white (three times now) he has a very bad night and appears sick that night and the next day. The first two times I just thought it was a coincidence - even though they were months apart. Now, this happened again last night and today his diaper - sorry for the TMI  the stool had some stringy looking brown mucus in it - this has NEVER happened b/f. He was up off and on all night and has had a runny nose now since yesterday.
It could be just him getting sick since I have had a cold for a week but, as this is the third time this has happened after egg whites and he does not get sick often I am not sure - he is also teething bad since he just cut one molar...

why don't you call your ped and ask for a referral to an allergist - you could get him checked.
