if your baby has reflux

last visit at the ped i explained my concerns for ds with is gas/poop issues

he does not have a allergy and she thinks he has reflux and said try one more formula and at our next visit if no change she will give him meds

the new formula has def worked..he is much better on it,poops now and the gas comes out better

he still has his moments and still can get bad gas

what were the symptoms of his reflux

ds does not spit up but sometimes,not all the time arches his back during feedings and still can scream from what i think is gas

i also feel like i always hear something in his chest,he is not sick but i can hear something

could it be silent reflux? i am just wondering bc our visit is coming up and if she suggest meds i am not sure what to say

DS had reflux as a baby and now DD2 has reflux (she is almost 7 weeks). She started Zantac about 2 weeks ago. She was very irritable during feedings and I would hear the formula come back up and she would gag. The zantac has worked really well and also worked for DS when he was a baby. The irritability during feedings is much better.

It sounds like it could be reflux. Reflux can cause wheezing and congestion sound in the chest. My dd had it dx at 4 weeks was on axid then zantac. Zantac worked best for her. She was on alimentum as well which was a huge help!

Definitely sounds like Silent Reflux. The arching and noises in the chest are some of the symptoms my dd had. She also made a throat clearing sound and was often a it stuffy.

Definitely sounds like silent reflux. Ds had this. Once we found the right formula & started zantac he was so much better. If you have tried different formulas & he is still having symptoms then I would try meds. Good luck! I know it can be frustrating.

If you hear formula come back up with a burl but they don't spit it up...is that reflux then?
My dd makes a snoring sound sometimes when she sleeps but now that someone said congestion.. how can you tell the difference? She is 6 weeks.

We thought our DD had reflux around 10 weeks. Our doc suggested a tbsp of rice in her bottles prior to trying meds.

DS has reflux and isn't a big spitter-upper. He has bad gas issues where it sounds like a faucet is on in his gut when I feed him. He will have wet burps but swallow it down and frequent hiccups. He is also congested sounding with a stuffy nose.

He has been on Axid for 9 weeks now. While over all he is a bit better, he still has strings of bad days, for example, the past three days he was arching, crying, and fussing while eating. His gas pains were terrible and he would groan from them. Today he is much better. The ped told me the other day that we won't be able to "cure" it and to expect good days and bad days. We should expect to see him outgrow it HOPEFULLY by 6 months....

You LO may have it, but If the new formula brings good days and some bad days, the meds might not do any better than that. Just do all he tricks: frequent burping, holding him upright 30 minutes after a feeding, limiting his time flat on his back, feeding him more upright. Good luck!

yes the chest congestion is a sign of reflux.

Arching his back during feedings is a sign. Snacking often or sometimes eating too much is a sign. Smelly acidic burps. What sounds like wet burps. Waking up shortly after a feeding.

These were all signs of my 1st sons reflux. He had silent reflux so he never spit up.

Silent reflux is worse because it's coming up his esophagus and then he's swalling it- causing 2 times the irritation.
