Re: If you work in Human resources-
I'm in Personnel , which is an antiquated names.
It's definitely 9 to 5 in the office (well in my case it's 9:30am-4:52pm) but I do check in after hours to get a jump on things.

Re: If you work in Human resources-
I work in bulk recruitment, its a lot of Call Centre recruitment these days. We do HUGE projects for HUGE clients, and we do a lot of interviewing internally. We have some interviewers who work 2/3 days a week, full time or 5 days a week 10 to 3 pm (or something like that) we also use external (freelancers) to do things like screening and interviewing. We sit within an Recruitment Advertising Agency. I manage these projects, I am in the office 4 days a week, 9 am to 5, however I manage a team so I have to be in the office. But freelancing is a good option.

Re: If you work in Human resources-
I worked in Training until just before my leave.
It was great - I taught 3 classes a week, made my own hours and did project work on the side.
Right before I left on maternity leave they promoted me to an Organizational Development Job, overseeing OD projects and the training staff (including a new person in my old role).
Now it's a LOT more face time, a staff of 3 (where I used to work alone) and many many many projects.
For work/life balance I should have turned down the promotion.
But I'm working 7-3 now, no exceptions and if need be I'll work on my laptop when DS goes to bed.

Re: If you work in Human resources-
I work in HR as a compensation analyst. My hours are 9-5 - although I work 8 - 4:30 now that I have DS.
If the company is good with flex scheduling you can really look at any open position that interests you.
