If you "wore" your newborn some questions!

I am interested in "wearing" my newborn as much as possible this time around. I have the ERGO baby carrier (which I have not used yet, had the Bjorn with #1 and hated it). My question is, how many hours a day should I wear the baby and during the summer, is this even doable without staying in the air conditioning all day??? Are there better, more secure slings out there that are light and breathable? I really don't want one that has miles of fabric!!! Any suggestions/help would be appreciated!

If you

I love my Ergo but it was difficult until DD was about 3 months old.

I had a hugamonkey sling carrier that I also liked. A sling style is definitely the way to go for a newborn.

ETA: you can wear the baby as much or little as you'd like. I found the wore I wore DD the calmer she was, and was easy to get around to do chores, move around the house, etc.

I was thinking of trying the JJ Cole agility wrap.

I tried the Moby with my DD and found it to be difficult to put on plus it was just way too much material.....

I used the moby when DS was younger...it was very breathable, but not my favorite. It was easy for around the house. I had him on while doing chores and he would just fall asleep in it.

When he got a little older I started using the beco butterfly. I LOVE the beco- I still use it (he's 7 months now). It's very easy to use. It's a little heavy for summer months though.
