If you take Pepcid AC for heartburn

Do you take the maximum strength? It says 1 pill a day. Do you take it in the morning before breakfast?

It was all the store had so I bought it. I have had no relief for 24 hours and have thrown up a few times from it. Need relief!

My doctor told me to try Zantac 150 or Pepcid 75. She told me the zantac was every 12 hours and the pepcid was 1x a day, but when I read the directions on the pepcid, it said not to take more than 2x per day. My heartburn is the worst at night. I find I get the best relief from the zantac. For the last week or so I've actually been getting sick at night and sometimes right after taking the zantac. I started to eat dinner much earlier because it's taking 6-7 hours to digest. I have a snack in the evening and that has helped the getting sick, but I stilll need the zantac to make it through the night as far as hearburn goes. I take the zantac at night and in the morning I sometimes take the pepcid or eat tums to get me through the day as my heartburn isn
t as bad during the day.

Mine is also worst at night. Def still there during the day but the late afternoon-night is torture!
