If you refinanced recently...
how long did it take for the appraisal to come in from when they came to the house?
We had the appraiser here on the 15th and the bank still hasn't gotten it. The bank told me it could take up to 2 weeks, which seems really long.
We had tried to refinance a few months ago and it didn't work for us then but the appraisal only took 2 days to get to the bank.
Just trying to figure out which is more the norm - I'm nervous rates are going to go up again!

We decided not to refi, but they told us over the phone when I did the initial application. This is with Wells Fargo.

Did Wells not send an appraiser to you? We originally tried to re-fi with wells about a year ago and due to one bad comp, the appraisal didn't come in high enough.
Fortunately, its been long enough that that house shouldn't be used as a comp anymore - and luckily for us rates have come down from last year!

No, they didn't send an appraiser. They determined over the phone that (I guess using comps) that our house was worth at least $XXX,XXX which gives us a lot of equity.
I asked about the time frame for comps and they said they only use comps within the last 4 months. Give or take.

we just refied with WF and they had an appraiser come over, we found out the $$ about 2 days later.
