If you put normal bumpers back in the crib?
DH is going to be lowering the crib today and I am wondering if we are in the clear to put the regular bumpers back in the crib. We have the breathable ones on now. DD is 8 months, crawling, sitting up on her own and a pro at rolling over. If you went back to the normal bumper, at what age did you do it?

Dd is 8 months today and 2 weeks ago we put regular bumpers on... I was scared at first but dd is a mover and I was tired to her banging up against the bars. I think she likes it too... Prob helps her feel more secure and less out in the open

I never put the bumpers in. DS is a mover but he is also a climber as at 13 mons I know he will be launching himself out shortly so I didn't want to give him bumpers to help.
He bangs himself all the time but never hard enough to hurt himself

Re: If you put normal bumpers back in the crib?
I think it depends on your child. Some are climbers and some aren't. My son is 28 months old and we've had bumpers in his crib since day 1. He still has never tried to climb out, so we don't have to worry about him using them as a step. At least not yet!

Re: If you put normal bumpers back in the crib?
I would just caution that they can use the bumpers to stand on and possible climb/fall out of the crib once they are pulling to stand. They are pretty fluffy and could act as a launching point.
We kept the breathable on until one morning I came in to find her all wrapped up in one of them! She had managed to pull the velcro apart and get one of them off and got tangled up in it!
after that they came out and she has had nothing since.

I never took the bumpers out at all. They were in there until we took him out of his crib at almost 4 and put him in a bed. He wasn't a climber.

Mine doesn't climb out of the crib. We put the bumpers in at about 6 to 7 months.

DS just turned 8 months and we about to lower the crib as well. I was thinking of putting the bumpers in now.
